A Senior Dog Who Lost His Ability To Move, Rejected By His Family, Feels The Love And The Sea Before Leaving This World

Some people have unconditional love for their pets no matter what, while some people only keep these animals for their own amusement when they’re young and useful and then abandon them cruelly when they age and weaken. These heartless people are unbelievable, but sadly they are everywhere in this world.

The German shepherd in this story used to have a family that he thought he was part of, until he became old and paralyzed and they discarded him like trash. After they moved away, the elderly dog was left behind in their old house with a shattered heart and numerous health issues. So when Gianna Serena Manfredi and other volunteers at the Qua La Zampa Association discovered him near Bitonto, Bari, Italy, they named the poor canine “Heart”.

Heart had issues with his ears, spine and two back legs, but the brave boy still managed to get around by himself. He was a true fighter.

Gianna and some other women had formed a group called “The Remote Mothers” to take care of the unfortunate dog, and Heart was so happy he experienced true love in the last days of his life. However, these days didn’t last forever. His stay with them lasted only 12 months.

When his time was almost up, Gianna decided to join him on the final journey of his life to the sea. And it was absolutely wonderful.

Gianna described a serene experience of visiting the sea. She admired the beautiful scenery with the wind gently touching her ears, the waves crashing against the rocks, and the sound of the sea creating a peaceful atmosphere during the quiet winter season. The moment provided her with a sense of relaxation that almost led her to fall asleep and forget about the emotional pain of feeling neglected by those who didn't love her enough, the physical discomfort of emerging sores, and the inability to play with a puppy that enjoys fetching stones.

Heart crossed the rainbow bridge soon after, feeling loved and cherished. It was sad, but he was going to a better place where he would never be harmed again.
