A baby deer with big eyes is hard to resist. Many people have a soft spot for both pets and wild animals. That's why it would be heartbreaking to watch one drown!
This story of a brave dog who saves his friend from the water will touch your emotions and maybe make you cry for them both. He also gives them lots of kisses, as dogs do.
Storm, a golden retriever, was walking with his owner Mark Freeley in Long Island Sound. They saw a fawn who was in trouble in the water, because of the windy and stormy weather that made it too risky to approach. No one else could help this poor creature, so Storm decided to act! He carefully grabbed the baby deer by the neck and brought her to the shore where she could rest. He stayed with her until Long Island's Animal Rescue League came.
But then, the fawn got frightened and ran back into the water. Mark and Frank Florida from Strong Island Animal Rescue League did not give up on her, so they dived in for a daring rescue! Storm watched nervously as Mark and Frank tried to save the baby deer. After eight minutes, they managed to rescue the fawn with their ropes!
The fawn was very scared and was taken to a rescue center. She is now recovering from her adventure and getting treatment for ticks and an eye injury. But she will be fine thanks to Storm's quick actions!
